MIJAS GOLF

Mijas Golf is known for its tranquil setting and the excellent courses that can be found here. There is for example the La Cala Golf & Country Club which counts as once of the best complexes to be found in this area. It is a popular place not only to play golf but also to take care of social contacts when visiting the club house. The La Cala Golf & Country Club welcomes locals as well as visitors and can be found in the hills behind Mijas. From the N340 coast road it is only 7 kilometres inland and therefore can be easily accessed.

Within the complex you will find two superb 18 hole golf courses as well as a 6 hole par 3 executive course - all situated within a peaceful area, amidst wonderful nature. Should you want to spend a day without playing golf you will also find tennis courts, an indoor pool, a sauna, squash courts and other facilities here. The complex also houses a luxury hotel for those who want to stay only a stones throw away from the golf course.

Designed by Cabell B. Robinson, the course was inaugurated in 1991. Both the La Cala Sur and the La Cala Norte courses offer a variety of vegetation and magnificent area views. As the courses provide water hazards and tricky fairways, golfers will be tested throughout the game and not only in accuracy.

Another golf course is located in Mijas Pueblo. This very well maintained course features outstanding conditions along with professional services and a range of facilities. One can also visit the Los Olivos and the Los Lagos golf courses which are overlooking the mountains and are located just to the north of Fuengirola. These two courses are suitable not only for experienced golfers but also for beginners as they are relatively flat. Here you will also find a Club House where you can re-charge your batteries with a meal or a drink on the wonderful terrace.
